Please join us Friday October 11th from 5 PM to 8 PM for a sampling of Cuvaison’s 2011 Estate Chardonnay and The Blend from Primus.
From the Cuvaison Winemaker’s website:
Our 2011 Chardonnay explores the mineral driven side of Chardonnay with taut green apple, white peach , lime zest and kiwi fruit. Hints of Ginger and vanilla back the bright jasmine and orange blossom notes but what really drives the wine is the vibrant structure and terrific finish that carry flavors for a long, satisfying ride.
The Cuvaison Estate Chardonnay is a 100% estate grown wine that represents the unique and certified sustainable vineyard site which is our home in the heart of Carneros. Each wine is meticulously hand-crafted from vineyard blocks that have been vinified separately, chosen by Winemaker Steve Rogstad for the distinct characteristics each brings to the final blend. Complex, multi-layered and highly nuanced, our estate wines represent uncompromised farming and winemaking from vine to bottle.
From the Primus Website about The Blend:
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carmenere, Syrah and Merlot. Primus The Blend has ripe red and black berry fruit flavors with exotic spice. A full-bodied wine with a lingering finish.
The grapes are hand-picked, double sorted, fermented and left on the skins after fermentation to extract deep color and rich flavors. The best lots of the vintage are selected, married to blend harmoniously and aged in French oak for a minimum of 12 months.
Primus The Blend was one of the first meritage blends produced in Chile by Agustin Huneeus who has also produced top California blends such as Franciscan Magnificat, Estancia Meritage and Quintessa.
Food pairing: Roasted and barbequed meats and chicken, dishes with olives, arugula, lentils and spice.
We look forward to seeing you at 119 Wine & Liquor this Friday!
